And I don't mean chicken, really, your product used to be one I relied on for quality, sadly, no more, the last half dozen cans may as well have been sold as broth for the lack of everything else in the can, the last can of chicken lacked both chicken and noodles. At sad end to what used to be a quality product.

Could not chew the clams in Manhattan clam chowder

Progresso - Could not chew the clams in Manhattan clam chowder
Updated by user Oct 16, 2023

This is taking much too long.

Original review Oct 09, 2023
Not edible. I have always enjoyed Progressos Manhattan clam chowder. Not today I open the can and it did make the sound that it was OK, put it in a sauce pan to warm it up and watched it so that it would never boil. When it was warm, I put it in a bowl and sat down to enjoy it. It was wretched. The clams were so chewy that I could not eat it. What a disappointment. I ended up throwing it out. Shame on you.

Stone soup…

Progresso - Stone soup…
Lentil soup had a stone in it that while chewing lentils the stone broke off part of my tooth exposing the now rough filling. Dentist had to cap it from the damage to the tooth. It is a molar. Progresso sent me 4 coupons with $7 each and said that they have no way of knowing my dental history! Shocked! I sent back coupons. I have many photos the dentist took and last three years of X-rays to show my diligence in dental care. Shameful that a company this large has a compassion/decency chip this small. I wont be buying Progresso again and many are agreeing with me.

Progresso was a good soup but now they should rename their soups: clam chowder was clam chowder, now it’s potato soup in yucky thick sauce! Same with all the others!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
You are trying to make money by changing soup can sizes, the amount of main ingredients, and the increase of thickeners. Feels like a Dickens novel! Please, can I have more porridge, sir? Obsession with making money is called greed! Sounds like another Dickens novel! I say Bah Humbugon Progressive! Go sell your so-called soup on The Moon! As in another novel by H.G. Wells!

User's recommendation: Don’t buy this soup! They are manipulating you counting on their past reputation!!!

Progresso isn’t what it used to be

It annoys me when people say how good progresso is. It used to be way better. Its average. Its nothing like it used to be.

Complaint

My husband and I shared a can of Progresso green split pea soup for lunch. The soup was almost inedible. It was full of hard barely cooked peas. We have never had that soup full of hard inedible peas. I have been a customer for many years, but if i find this again, my patronage will discontinue.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Lids on cans are very difficult to open. The metal on the lids is thicker than before...I had to use a can opener. Then a screwdriver and finally a pr. Of pliers. Soup was good. Think they hve a machinery problem on production line.
